Rising temperatures, sun-kissed skin, and sultry revealing attire stimulate our deepest sexual desires. It’s a fact! There’s a reason why sex and summer go so well together (In my opinion, sex and EVERYTHING go well together!). A Higher Sex Drive – Most people tend to have a higher sex drive in the summer (unless you’re like me who is clearly hitting her prime! ha!). Sunlight slows down the body’s production of melatonin. The lower the melatonin level, the higher the libido. Seductive Sweat – (Ew) Pheromones are released through sweat glands in our skin that trigger our sexual urges and desires. Sweat enhances your natural scent, which can be a very powerful sexual attractant. The power of this scent is stronger in the summer, considering we sweat much more during the summer months (Personally, I’m NOT a fan of sweat). Also, heat increases the blood flow to the surface of our skin. This causes our sence of touch to increase, causing a greater sensitivity in those erogenous zones.
Why you think I spend so many hours soaking up the sun? *wink*
Summer Safety Sex Tips:
Drink lots of water! This is a no-brainer. Not only does it prevent you from dehydrating, but by drinking lots of water throughout the day and preserving energy, you will retain sexual stamina.
Practice Safe Sex! Avoid two conditions that cause breakage in condoms: water and heat. Condoms are not water-resistant. This will cause friction, causing heat, allowing more of a chance for the condom to break. Avoid storing condoms in warm environments. Again, the heat will weaken the latex allowing more chances of a breakage.
Water is sexy! Really, who doesn’t like having sex in the shower? If you have sex in the water (or shower) use lots of lube. Avoid using a water based lube. Instead, use a SILICONE lube! It is waterproof and won’t break down. Water decreases the amount of natural lubrication produced, resulting in much friction and nothing but a very painful experience…….And when I say use lots of lube, I mean LOTS!!!
